- Citizenship or Permanent Residency: You must be a Saudia citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold an Employment Pass/S Pass/Work Permit to employ a foreign domestic worker.
- Age Requirement: The minimum age to hire a foreign domestic worker (FDW) is 21 years old.
- Income: Ensure that your monthly income meets the minimum requirement specified by MOM. The income threshold varies depending on the number of family members you have.
Work Permit Application Process
Once you have identified a suitable nanny for your family, you need to apply for a work permit. The process involves the following steps:
- Submitting an Application: You can apply for a work permit online through the Ministry of Manpower’s (MOM) website. Provide the required information, including your personal details, your nanny’s information, and employment details.
- Paying Fees: There are several fees associated with the work permit application, including an application fee, an issuance fee, and a security bond. Familiarize yourself with the latest fee structure and payment methods by referring to the MOM website.
- Security Bond: As an employer, you are required to purchase a security bond to ensure the well-being and repatriation of the nanny if necessary. The bond amount depends on the source country of the nanny and can be obtained from a bank or an insurance company.
